James Cook University (JCU) graduates are leading the way in employer satisfaction, according to a national survey. JCU graduates topped the list in the Australian Government’s Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching 2017 ‘Employer Satisfaction Survey’ (QILT ESS) receiving the highest percentage of favourable ratings from employers. They outranked graduates from all other universities across Australia.
The survey asked direct supervisors to rate graduates on a range of skills, including application of professional and technical knowledge and ability to perform and innovate in the workplace. The survey is the largest of its kind, reporting the views of more than 4,000 employers about the attributes of recent graduates.
The survey’s results reinforce JCU’s standing as a top-rated university. JCU has received five-stars for job success for the past seven years from the Good Universities Guide. The Times Higher Education Young University Rankings in 2017 ranked JCU in the top 50 best modern universities in the world.
